The Lord of The Rings : The Rings of Power. Bland, Boring, UnFey 🙁

Image
There's been talk about Amazon's The Lord of The Rings: The Rings of Power for months now; heated debate and sometimes outright anger over the "forced diversity" and 'toxic woke feminism" people felt it included. I heard the chatter, saw some trailers, but for the most part ignored the perhaps premature surmises on how bad it would be. Instead I chose to wait and watch for myself, then make up my own mind, relatively free from the biases swirling in the cyberworld around me. And so I did. I have to say I honestly went into the first episode with high hopes for a transcendent experience even marginally akin to the one Peter Jackson gave us in his unimpeachable version all those many years ago. I could care less whether some hobbits were now brown, whether some elves had darker skin...so what? If in a fantasy world no less,  you cannot imagine characters with slight variations in skin colour than what the book described then you're fucked. As long as the

My $40 Back To School Essentials Challenge

Hello everyone, I hope you and yours are all doing well. Today I decided to challenge myself to see if I could spend just $40 to purchase my back to school essentials at yesstyle.com. I have really been enjoying shopping on this site lately, and the one package I ordered from them so far arrived quickly and without problems. Their prices are so reasonable and the products are tempting. Today, I thought of a fairly inexpensive challenge (excuse) to buy as many stationery products for back to school as I can, while spending no more than $40. Without further ado...let's see how I did. These are the products I placed in my shopping cart to order: 1.  School Time - Printed 2-Layer Pencil Case - US$ 5.60 2.  SOONERGO - Set of 4: Pen - 0.5 mm US$ 6.60 3.  SOONERGO - Set: B5 Loose Leaf Document Folder + Refill Paper + Divider + Highlighter  -  US$ 10.90 4.   School Time - Set of 6: Highlighters - US$ 4.60 5.  Cute Essentials - Transparent Sticky Note - US$ 5.20 6.  Yuja Girl - Cartoon P

I made a video! Vitamin C and Korean Skin Care

Hello everyone! This is  a short post as it's near 12:00 midnight as I type and I've just finished uploading my (very amateur) video to Youtube.  Exciting yes...but I'm quite tired now (*sigh)😪 So lately I have been wanting to take better care of my skin, as I enter more mature years. Through my explorations and tentative experimentations with what's available out there, I have become a little bit obsessed with two things: 1. Vitamin C 2. Korean skin care Lately, my favourite product has been the dear Klairs Freshly Juiced Vitamin C Drops and the Freshly Juiced Vitamin E Mask. I've been slathering them both on my face almost every night and I really am seeing a difference. Therefore, I decided to make a video review and post it to YouTube. Now I'm not a pro content creator by any means, and I definitely don't have the pro equipment they use, but I think I did alright for a rank amateur.  Dear Klairs Freshly Juiced Vitamin C Drops and Vitamin E  mask - quick

Stationery Love - Journaling in 2022

Hi everyone! I cannot believe that my last post was in 2016 (!) and it is now all of 2022! The struggle has been too real I'll tell you. Sadly, I allowed life in general to knock me off the creative planner bandwagon...that is, until now.  Due to the vagaries of "Ms. Rona" since 2020, I think many people had their routines derailed, and planning became somewhat different than it had been before. For me, I started tending towards creative journaling more than planning. Honestly I think that was always the style that appealed to me most. So now instead of keeping a daily planner, I'm more into freestyle journaling, using words, pictures, stickers, and whatever I can find to do creative, expressive layouts. I love decorating with different pens and markers - whatever helps me to express my mood. My favourite thing to keep are lists and trackers of all kinds. For instance, some of the ones I've enjoyed including in my journal are: Water trackers - pretty standard to
